Serene is a senior associate in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution team of Zhong Lun graduated with a Bachelor of Laws and obtained her Postgraduate Certificate in Laws at the University of Hong Kong.

She specializes in civil litigation and arbitration. She once worked with Queen’s Counsel, two Senior Counsel and four Counsel in a Court of Final Appeal case involving contractual disputes of RMB hundreds of million. She also has extensive experience in handling matrimonial proceedings, insolvency cases and regulatory investigations. She has participated in cases involving contractual dispute, debt recovery and shareholders’ disputes. She has also handled various interlocutory applications including but not limited to application for injunction relief, security for costs and discovery applications.

• Acting for a client in claiming the damages for the loss in sale and purchase of shares of a company valued at over RMB 100 million
• Acting for a renowned PRC company in Hong Kong arbitration proceedings involving share purchase disputes of over RMB hundreds of million
• Acting for a client claiming his guarantor in Hong Kong arbitration proceedings for over US$20 million under various guarantee agreements
• Acting for a former executive director of a listed company in resisting the SFC’s action for alleged breach of director’s duties
• Advising a stockbroker in the investigation of the Securities and Futures Commission
• Acting for a group company in resisting winding up petition and negotiating settlement with various Hong Kong licensed banks
• Acting for a mainland tycoon in Hong Kong divorce proceedings in seeking injunctive relief against his spouse
• Advising a corporate investor against a Hong Kong licensed bank for the breach of banker’s duties in advising on investment plan
