Jessica’s practice focuses on private client and general corporate matters. She regularly advises clients on trusts, succession planning, wills, probate and estate administration. She also has extensive experience in corporate and commercial matters, including restructurings, due diligence, mergers and acquisitions, and other cross-border transactions.

Jessica is a member of the Hong Kong Trustees’ Association and a qualified Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) with the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). She also serves as a member of the Wills and Estates Sub-committee and the Next Gen Sub-Committee of STEP in Hong Kong.

  • Advising a prominent family on estate, succession planning and restructuring their family’s investment and trust arrangements with assets spanning Hong Kong, PRC, Singapore and Taiwan for tax and succession planning purposes
  • Acting for the largest private real estate developer in Canada with over USD8 billion in assets and real estate projects across Canada, U.K., U.S. and Asia on tax planning, wealth management, disclosure, compliance, loan financing and merger and acquisitions matters
  • Acted for a well-known PRC entrepreneur on the restructuring of his family trusts to hold over USD3 billion in assets, handling relevant disclosures to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and addressing Hong Kong stamp duty, PRC tax and other compliance and disclosure matters in other offshore jurisdictions
  • Acted for a PRC entrepreneur on his group reorganization (including restructuring of shareholder loans and liquidation of offshore companies) and successfully obtained stamp duty relief of over USD2.8 million on distribution of shares of a Hong Kong listed company
  • Advising on the formation of Hong Kong charities and obtaining tax exemption status for charities in Hong Kong
  • Advised a well-known real estate tycoon in acquiring multiple properties via different offshore trusts, including various hotels, hospitals, boats and breweries in Canada, addressing related corporate restructuring, disclosure and compliance matters
  • Acted for a leading global specialty materials company based in U.S. on an intragroup loan restructuring (over EUR500 million in value) involving companies in multiple jurisdictions (including Hong Kong) and the related tax implications to achieve optimal tax benefits in all relevant jurisdictions
  • Advised on the acquisition of a leading logistics company that engaged in air, ocean, rail and truck freight forwarding business of over USD100 million in value
